Today it was “activity day”.

Yay!

I mean, it’s true I’m here to study but there are things that really never change. No matter if you’re 9, 16, 25 or 31, what you like the most about school are breaks and excursions.

Our walking tour guide, Albert, is from Queens; “It’s a nice area, but way too residential and can become a bit boring” he says. What about Manhattan then? “Well, Manhattan is Manhattan, of course it is amazing, but it’s frenetic , busy all the time”.

At the moment I’m living in Chelsea and the last time I came my hotel was in Times Square and I have to say that on this side of the city it always feels like it’s noon.

So the advice of the day, coming from Albert, 21, our favourite walking tour guide, is “if you want a mix of the two, come and live in Brooklyn!”

I’m not going to convince you about it and, I promise, I’m not getting paid by the Brooklyn borough. However I am going to tell you only this: one of the neighbourhood is called Dumbo.

DUMBO.

– “Where are you from?”

– “I’m from Dumbo.”

Who wouldn’t live there?!

Thanks to this activity today I could spend some time with students that are attending other classes. Most of the students at the school are living their personal ESL adventure, and that made me very proud.

Below some faces, you deserve it.

What can I say, I love people. I don’t love them all the time but I do when their mind set is positioned on the  “enjoy life” mode.

I leave you with this last thought tonight from New York City.

I’m having a blast.
