How did you find your way to ESL, when did you start working and what was your first position?
As I grew up around three languages at home, I have always had a great passion for languages. When I started to earn my own money, suddenly my next passion was born: travelling While I was working in Turkey and my time there was getting to an end, I just wanted to check if it would be worth to go back to Switzerland or if I should extend my work contract in Turkey. I found a job offer that was made for me: I applied at ESL for the LTC Officer position in Luzern and I got the job. In December 2011 I started working as an LTC in Luzern.
What’s your current position at ESL and how did you get there, which development did you follow?
I am currently the IAC Manager for the Swiss German market. While I was in the Sales Office in Luzern, I got the opportunity to work for 2 months in the Head Office in Montreux, to help out our IAC Department during the summer time. I had a great time. I liked the job and I enjoyed seeing the other side of a booking. Working in the Head Office really got me, cause I finally met my colleagues from the other departments; I still appreciate them very much! After those 2 months, I went back to Luzern. Later, Carole, the Head of the IAC Department, asked me if I would be interested in going back to Montreux for a full-time position. And I agreed. After more than 3 years working in a Sales Office I was happy to get challenged in a new department. So I packed all my belongings and drove down to Montreux, not knowing if I was going to regret the decision or not. After working 2 months in the IAC Department as an IAC Officer, Carole asked me to become the IAC Manager of the Swiss German clients. So as you can imagine, I don’t regret my decision!
What do you like about working at ESL and what do you think has been key to ESL’s success in the last 20 years?
Working at ESL is an everyday pleasure. You are surrounded by colleagues that have the same interests as you, who are engaged in their jobs and share their ideas and opinions to make your daily job even more efficient and professional. ESL’s success comes from the atmosphere in the company. It all started with the founders, who are very open-minded and with whom you can easily identify yourself. The employees at ESL have all the same interests and really believe in this market and in all our products: this is the main success. If your employees believe and live the lifestyle of the company, you can grow and achieve even more!
