How did you find your way to ESL, when did you start working and what was your first position?
I discovered ESL about 9 years ago. I had just started my first job in a Web agency and ESL was one of our major customers. At that time, I worked with the ESL web department on improving their CMS (Content Management System) and developing their websites. One year later, I was hired as an in-house Web Developer in the Web team.
What’s your current position at ESL and how did you get there, which development did you follow?
I’m currently Web Assistant Manager and Back-End Developer. I still work to improve the CMS and develop in-house API (Application Programming Interface) and I manage the team when my manager is not here. When I started, ESL was a “small company” and I had the chance to try different tasks. In addition to web development, I was in charge of managing a lot of web servers all around the world and I even worked as IT support.
What do you like about working at ESL and what do you think has been key to ESL’s success in the last 20 years?
What I like about ESL is the work atmosphere; young and motivating people who aren’t just colleagues but also friends. Another important thing for me is that all our departments are in-house and this allows us to be efficient and responsive. To finish, one of ESL strengths is its strong interest in the “Internet market”. As far as I know ESL, they always wanted to improve their visibility and use quality content and performing tools to facilitate both customer experience and employees’ jobs.
