We have developed a series of online language level tests that will give you a rough idea of your level in a range of popular languages. They are completely free and you receive your result immediately, without having to enter any private data or contact details.

Arabic level test

English level test

French level test

German level test

Italian level test

Mandarin level test

Russian level test

Spanish level test

Each test lasts around twenty minutes.

At the end, you will receive a level based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This level will be somewhere between A1 (beginner) and C2 (mastery or proficiency). Remember, because the tests are multiple choice and consist of written questions, they can’t give you an idea of your aural comprehension or spoken level, so they should only be used as a guide.

If you choose to sign up for any of our language courses, one of the first things you will do at the school is take a more comprehensive placement test to ensure you end up in the right group. Don’t worry if exams don’t get the best out of you, as it is possible to change groups once the course begins if, for any reason, you end up at the wrong level.

So, please switch off your mobile phones, put away your text books and put your hand up if you have any questions. You have twenty minutes, starting… well, whenever is convenient for you.
