Open your eyes…
Language schools are used to teaching students of all different nationalities in their classrooms. Students from across the world are continually coming and going, creating an original and changing atmosphere, as each student brings a bit of their culture with them. In addition, subjects covered in class often deal with differences and similarities between the various countries represented and the country in which the language study trip is taking place. Such things as daily habits, outlooks on life, different religions and typical dishes of the country are compared. Of course, we are all more or less aware of the different customs across the world, but when we experience, see and talk about them with someone who follows them on a daily basis, it is sometimes difficult to understand. The most important thing ,even if we don’t share the same view, is to listen to the other person and to respect their opinion. This allows us to realise that what sometimes appears obvious or accurate to us may not necessarily appear as such to everyone…If we accept this principle, at least for the duration of our language study trip, we discover new ways of thinking, new ways of looking at life, and, in the end, this trip will have given us much more than just a simple tourist excursion in the region! The multiculturalism found in language schools and in the cities and towns visited during language study trips abroad will reveal to you a profusion of different cultures and will open your eyes to the marvels of this world…
New horizons…
A language study trip abroad is an enriching voyage of discovery! We become aware of differences in mentality, of how one country may follow a custom which another absolutely does not follow…this is what makes discussions so exciting and intense in a language school. Everyone brings their personal experience, a history, a subject which is of great importance to them. People dare to deal with a multitude of topics which they would not necessarily have spoken about elsewhere for fear of expressing themselves incorrectly or offending the person involved. Thanks to these mini-debates hosted by the teachers, who represent the country of the language study trip and who ensure that everyone has their say, students get to know each other more quickly and strike up friendships more easily. Sometimes, the students are so taken up by the discussions that they don’t even realise that they are expressing themselves in a language other than their mother tongue…Who would have thought that you could return from a language study trip having discovered so many new horizons ? Experience an exciting round-the-world trip during your language study trip!
