The 5 hottest destinations for an English course are…
Malta (August average high 32°C)
This is one of our most popular locations, particularly with students in their twenties who want to combine a language course with a party holiday in the sunshine. Neighbouring island Gozo enjoys an identical climate but offers a more tranquil experience. And all within Europe! Temperatures regularly exceed 35°C but the sea breeze helps cool everyone down, especially by the coast.
Grenada (year-round average high 31°C)
This close to the Equator, traditional seasons have little meaning – the air remains glorious all year round. Even during the rainy season from June until December, the weather is fine for most of the day, punctuated by occasional (often spectacular) rain showers.
The hours of glorious sunshine and warm air contribute to a wonderfully laid-back lifestyle, where the emphasis is on enjoying life. A unique destination for an English course.
New Delhi, India (June average high 39°C)
Temperatures in Delhi build and build until the end of June, when the weather breaks and the monsoon starts, bringing cooler air and refreshing rain. Back when the Brits used to rule India, they would escape the city during the hottest months and head to hill stations in the mountains, where the air was cooler (and the tea fresher).
Cairns, Australia (January average high 31°C)
The Australian state of Queensland is larger than many European countries! Right at the top of the state, 1,700km north of Brisbane, Cairns is famous for superb sandy beaches, turquoise water and the Great Barrier Reef. Learning English in Cairns, you can enjoy the beach life and trips inland to the rainforest, all under the glorious Aussie sunshine.
San Antonio, USA (July average high 35°C)
In the home of Chilli con Carne, the temperatures get hot. San Antonio is one of the USA’s fastest growing cities and an original destination for an English course. The weather is hot and dry all year round but the American love of air conditioning ensures that, even when it’s barbecue weather outside, you won’t suffer.
The hottest destination for a Spanish course is… Panama
Although a couple of cities in Spain are hotter during the height of summer (Córdoba and Seville, where the mercury often hits 40°C), our most consistently hot destination for a Spanish course is Panama. Fortunately, if the city gets too sweaty for you, a surfing trip to the coast or a trip inland to the elevated jungles should help you cool down.
The hottest destination for a French course is… Martinique
You just know life is going to be good in an island famous for beaches, rum and sunshine. Martinique does not disappoint. Even during the rainy season, the temperature rarely drops below 20°C and the showers rarely last long. Add to this a well-developed infrastructure and the euro as the local currency, and you have an ideal destination for a French course in the sunshine.
The hottest destination for a Portuguese course is… Olinda, Brazil
As one of Brazil’s best-preserved colonial cities, Olinda is an enticing destination for a Portuguese course. Against the backdrop of colourful streets and ancient churches, enjoy life in a booming, multicultural city that is less than 900km south of the Equator.
The hottest destination for an Italian course is… Taormina, Sicily
The summer in Sicily is long and hot. Taormina’s glorious coastline offers everything you would want during an Italian course in Italy, including excellent shopping, historical sites dating back thousands of years and cuisine that has been copied but never bettered. Temperatures regularly reach into the high 30s.
The hottest destination for a German course is… Freiburg
When colonialists from other European nations were exporting their languages around the world in exchange for land, slaves and treasure, the rulers of the German kingdoms were busy fighting or marrying each other. As a result, the German language didn’t make a long-term impression south of the Alps. Our hottest destination for a German course is Freiburg, which sits in a beautiful part of the Black Forest. You should probably still pack a jumper.

A thriving, modern Arab city, Amman is one of the most important business hubs of the Middle East. Relatively young by local standards – dating back only to the 13th century B.C – this is a place where cultures meet and exchange, debate and trade. Foreign visitors prize the stability and security of Jordan’s capital city.
